History and Remembrance
A city rebuilt following the world’s first atomic bomb attack, Hiroshima’s museums and memorials are dedicated to preserving history and promoting peace.
- Peace Memorial Park– Leading up to the Hiroshima Peace Memorial Museum, this park is designed with contemplative spaces to honour victims of the bombing.
- Atomic Bomb Dome – One of the only surviving structures near the bomb’s hypocenter, it stands today as a reminder of the devastation of nuclear weaponry.
- Hiroshima Peace Memorial Museum – Told through first-person accounts, exhibits track the lead-up, impact, and legacy of the atomic bombing of Hiroshima.
