Average time to visit

Offering warm temperatures throughout the year the Caribbean is a perfect year round destination. With an average of 9 hours sunshine a day the peak season runs from December through to April which is the dry season when you can expect very little rainfall. May to November are the slightly wetter months where you will find an increase in rainfall as the summer season goes on and with that some humidity, however the Summer months are still a great time to travel as the temperatures are hot and the rain tends to come in short heavy bursts but not all day long. The wettest months with the most humidity are September and October and these are the most probable months for hurricanes to occur in the region although many islands have not experienced hurricanes for a number of years. The average daily temperatures range from the mid-seventies in the winter months and mid-eighties in the summertime.

Itinerary

Day 1-8

At Sea: Cruising the Caribbean

Day 1: Bridgetown, Barbados
Today you will be transferred from your hotel to the Seabourn Ovation cruise ship, to embark on a 7-night luxury cruise from the enchanting island of Barbados, venturing into the heart of the Caribbean. With a private yacht-like atmosphere you will experience premium service from the highly trained attentive crew, along with a sensational-inclusive offering where the finest cuisine, premium spirits and fine wines are included, combined with tailormade excursions, and itineraries, elevating your trip to the next level.
During your time on this cruise, you will enjoy carefully curated shore excursions with expert guides and Zodiac boat trips, allowing you to explore each destination exactly as you wish. Whether visiting iconic sights, immersing yourself in local culture, or discovering the untamed natural beauty. Take your time to become acquainted with the ship's layout and enjoy a mouthwatering evening meal before you set sail to your first stop on the itinerary, the beautiful Saint Lucia.
Day 2: Castries, Saint Lucia
Soak up the towering volcanic peaks known as the Pitons, as they appear over the bay as you sail into Castries. Bursting with beauty, you can head out on a segway tour, or choose to visit Marigot Bay, a rum distillery, and Howelton Estate, or rise over the landscape in an aerial tram adventure.
Day 3: Terre-de-Haut, Iles des Saintes, Guadeloupe
After a restful night's sleep, awake to beautiful views of Iles des Saintes, a tiny cluster of islets off the southern coast of Guadeloupe. A peek into the quiet Caribbean, stroll the little town of Bourg de Saintes, shop from the sidewalk vendors and soak up the pace of the past.
Day 4: St. Johns, Antigua and Barbuda
Today the iconic harbour of St Johns will welcome you. Bursting with many key sights, visit Shirley Heights, Nelson’s Dockyard, Block House Ruins, and one of the many beaches that cushion Antigua.
Day 5: Day At Sea
Enjoy your first day at sea, the perfect chance to rest and relax on board, making the most of the yacht's luxurious facilities.
Day 6: Great Harbour, Jost van Dyke, British Virgin Islands
Today you will be treated to the delights of Jost van Dyke, the smaller of the BVIs. Anchored at the Great Harbour, the perfect spot to enjoy the ship’s marina for a day of play in the warm Caribbean waters or charter a boat to explore some of the outlying islets and cays.
Day 7: Carambola Beach, Saint Kitts and Nevis
Awake to the stunning beauty of Carambola Beach, home to the island’s most luxurious beach clubs. Relax and take in the beach club scene or explore St Kitt’s plantation great houses, the UNESCO World Heritage Site of Brimstone Hill Fortress and a scenic narrow gauge sugarcane railway.
Day 8: Philipsburg, Sint Maarten
Watch the sunrise as you arrive in Sint Maarten, the ‘Dutch side’ of Saint Martin, marking the end of your cruise. Your private luxury transfer awaits to whisk you away to the airport for your onward journey to St Barths.
