The Beach Club, a grown up boutique resort, is perched on Catseye Beach, one of Hamilton Island's most popular beaches with translucent white sand and gently lapping water. With a strict over 18 policy, the property feels quiet and elegant without feeling formal; it definitely has a laid back beachy vibe.
The light filled rooms are beautiful; think paired back wooded floors, light contemporary wooden furniture, traditional shutters, soft linens and splashes of blue. Some have a patio and others have a balcony, but they all share the same New England light and airy style that we love. Each room looks out to the sea through the tropical vegetation; from here you are just a gentle walk down to the beach and to the infinity pool.
Facilities are arguably a little limited, with the one sleek pool and the wonderful Beach Club Restaurant that serves fresh seafood and classic beach side meals. However, don't let this worry you as there so many facilities on Hamilton Island that are an easy drive, buggy ride or walk to and you can simply charge things back to your room - the beauty of Hamilton Island. The concierge and reception can easily organise non motorised water sports for free, excursions to the Great Barrier Reef, restaurant and spa reservations.
We feel this is an excellent option for couples of friends wanting to indulge in a sophisticated hotel on a great beach. It's particularly great for people who like to eat in different locations in the evening, as there are so many options.
