Manitoba has a typically dry climate with very distinct seasons that have sharp temperature changes. During the winter months, temperatures can be as low as -40 degrees celsius, and in the summer months, temperatures of 38 degrees celsius are not uncommon. The snow is deeper than 1cm for over 130 days of the year, so the region is known for its long winter and snowy conditions. Despite the coldness, skies are often completely clear and due to very low levels of pollution, stargazing and northern lights viewing are excellent nighttime activities.

Day 2-6

Your next flight will take you over the Hudson Bay and Churchill River, keep an eye out for arctic wildlife, including caribou, moose, seals, wolves and of course the “Great Ice Bears”.
On arrival at the lodge you will get settled into your room, this is the most exclusive lodge that offers truly wild encounters of the polar bear. Later in the day stretch your legs with a coastline hike, learn about the Hudson Bay wildlife and should weather conditions favour, marvel as the night skies dance with the Aurora Borealis. Your remote lodge also offers an Aurora viewing tower meaning you can observe the northern lights from the comfort of inside.
