Tingri
Located at Southern Tibet, the Tingri county is renowned as a base to ascend into Mount Everest or Cho Oyu. You can view four of the six highest mountains in the world here, including Mount Lhotse, Mount Makalu, as well as the aforementioned Everest and Cho Oyu.
Once upon a time, Tingri stands as an important trading post where Tibetan wools, livestocks and salts are traded. Today, it is located along the Friendship Highway which continues overland into Nepal.
