Ranthambore National Park
The imposing Ranthambore Fort looms over Ranthambore National Park, the best tiger safari reserve in Rajasthan. The park's wild jungle scrub stretches across 392 km² of open meadows and dry deciduous forests. Jodhpur
Jodhpur’s Blue City is a tangle of mediaeval lanes and alleys lined with blue and white-washed stone dwellings and colourful markets, the air heavy with the scent of spices and flowers. It's a fascinating place to visit and immerse yourself for a couple of days in the cultural charms of Rajasthan.
Standing proudly atop the rocky hill, the 15th-century Mehrangarh Fort is one of the best places to visit in Jodhpur. Appearing almost as a natural extension of the earth, its stone walls are carved from the rock that supports it. This simple exterior reveals a series of opulently designed halls, with coloured glasswork, mirrors and delicate sandstone carvings.
After a day of exploring, live like a Maharaja with a cocktail in the elegant surrounds of the Umaid Bhawan Palace. One of the last great palaces built in India, it's now partly a museum showcasing the royal heritage of Jodhpur.

The best times to visit Rajasthan are from February to April and October to November. The weather is mild and comfortable during these periods, which is ideal for travelling, sightseeing and viewing wildlife in national parks. December and January are popular times to visit but mornings and evenings can be very cool during these months.
July to September is the rainy season. While Rajasthan doesn't get as much rainfall as other regions of India, the vast majority of the rain it does get occurs during this period. But if you don't mind the humidity, you'll get to enjoy an even more colourful landscape.

The best time to visit Ranthambore National Park depends on the type of experience you want. The weather is mild and pleasant from November to April, helping you stay comfortable on safari. The park is especially lush and green at this time, as it follows the monsoon season when the park has abundant wildlife.
While tiger sightings are possible year-round, the period from April to June is considered the best time to see tigers in Ranthambore. This is when vegetation that camouflages tigers thins out under the summer heat, and they become more active in search of water and prey. But bear in mind that summer temperatures reach up to 45°C, which can be uncomfortable for visitors.
Note that zones 1-5 of the park are closed to visitors from July to September due to the rainy season.
