For sunny days at comfortable temperatures, October and November or February and March are the best months to visit. December and January can be cold, with fog obscuring early morning views. The region is largely hot from April with the rainy season hitting in July and August.
You could time your trip to the Golden Triangle to witness one of India's iconic festivals, such as Holi – the Hindu festival of colours – or Diwali, the most important holiday in the Indian calendar. Holi is held each March while Diwali falls in the autumn.

India is a fairly conservative country with a dress code to match. Show respect to locals by covering your shoulders and knees and avoiding tight clothing. This is especially important at temples where strict apparel guidelines are usually in place. Be prepared to remove your shoes to enter certain parts of religious buildings. Bear in mind that temperatures in the Golden Triangle can climb beyond 30°C even in March, so dress to stay cool and protected from the sun. We recommend packing long, loose garments in breathable fabrics, sandals and light shoes suitable for walking, a sun hat, and sunglasses.
