Set up in 1986 to protect two species of very rare lemur, the golden bamboo lemur and the greater bamboo lemur, Parc National de Ranomafana covers 40,000 hectares of stunning forest, rivers and beautiful waterfalls. It is now one of Madagascar’s most popular parks and a great place to spot lemurs in the wild. The staggering views will hit you as soon as you arrive at the lodge, and will remain to amaze you for the remainder of your time spent at the lodge.
Setam Lodge offers the best accommodation in the area in 22 chalet-style rooms with en-suite shower rooms and 24-hour electricity. The restaurant serves good food in generous portions, which you will feel you deserve after a day scrambling around the forest in search of long-tailed primates. In addition to serving hearty meals, the restaurant has huge windows to encompass the delightful views of the national park.
