The emblematic red cabins are a crowning feature of the Lofoten islands and a stay in one of Svinøya Rorbuer's traditional rorbu cabins will transport you back to a simpler time to a place where the sea rules over the land.
With the open ocean on one side, and the spectacular Lofoten mountains on the other you can not help than to be healed by this remote location and to be intoxicated by the spectacular views and enthralled by the roaring ocean. The cabins are located in the vibrant fishing village of Svolvæ in an idyllic spot between the fish landing station, the quayside buildings, fish racks and old local buildings.
There are a number of activities available in the area where you can experience the wildlife who are drawn to the Lofoten islands, such as heading out on a sea eagle rib safari across the Trollfjord where you'll come across pristine, white beaches as you head out in search of these majestic birds. Lofoten is also a great spot for those who are fans of fishing, or even if you want to try your hand at the activity for the first time.
The hotel's restaurant, Børsen Spiseri, is one of the best-known restaurants in the area where fresh ingredients are served from the extensive larder. The restaurant is houses in an old quayside warehouse which dates back to 1828 and still retains many of its original features. Fish is, of course, prominent on the menu and produce comes from a stock located just a few metres away. Next to the restaurant you'll also find a former "Krambua" or general store, which now forms as a small museum where you can see artefacts of fishing equipment from years gone by.
