Itinerary

Day 1-3

Porto, Portugal

Plunge into this utterly divine itinerary from the off as you succumb to the magic of Porto. You'll stay at The Yeatman, one of the very finest hotels in Porto, nestled to the south of the river Douro, surrounded by the cellars of the most famous port wine producers of the city. The infinity pool is truly unique - in the shape of a wine bottle, with views of the city not only from the surface, but also from underwater portholes - a divine oasis to relax after your days exploring Porto.

As soon as you arrive in Porto, you’ll understand how diverse Portugal is. On the north bank of the Douro River, Porto is still one of the most impressive Portuguese cities. Start with an exclusive after-hours private visit to the Taylor’s wine cellars. Indulge in a premium port tasting session, including a traditional opening of Taylor’s Vintage Ports with hot tongs. Relish in a guided tour of the long cool cellars, dark warehouses, their thick granite walls and high ceilings helping to keep out the heat and maintain an even temperature throughout the year.

The next morning embark on a private half-day tour of Porto including an exclusive after-hours visit to the Stock Exchange Palace. During this driving tour, you will be able to experience all the charm and history that exudes from Porto. Once at the Stock Exchange Palace, you will witness the incredible architecture of this impressive building and explore all the hidden corridors and rooms. Brace yourself for an exceptional dinner as you indulge in a special gourmet tasting menu with a wine pairing at the unique Euskalduna Studio restaurant. Head chef Vasco and his team invite you to join them in their creative kitchen and share a gastronomic journey in an intimate setting, sitting at the counter. Euskalduna Studio’s menu has 10 unique courses alongside some surprises, creating a joyful gastronomic experience, turning the fine dining concept on its head and amazing the five senses.

Day 3-6

Douro Valley, Portugal

Leaving the delights of Porto behind you, head to the beauty of the Douro Valley. The journey here is an experience in itself, named as one of the ‘most scenic drives in Europe’. Stay at the utterly luxurious Six Senses Douro Valley, commanding an enviable position overlooking the River Douro. Step aboard an ecological yacht, relax and unwind as you sail along taking in all its beauty. Next stop, it is time for some sumptuous wine tasting at one of the exceptional vineyards in the valley. Arrive at Quinta do Noval to a warm embrace and an exceptional tour through its fascinating winery. Submerge into a tasting of exclusive wines in the shade of the centennial cedar before enjoying a delicious lunch served in the dining room of the Quinta's house accompanied by their wines. Return to the hotel for one of their famous spa treatments and exquisite dinner or head out to Michelin starred chef Rui Paula’s restaurant DOC right on the river.

Time for more wine tastings, well you are in the Douro Valley after all! Indulge at Quinta do Bomfim, the family-made ports and wines can be tasted on the terrace with wonderful views of the river. The next day, delight in an exclusive opening of Quinta do Vesuvio, one of the most iconic proprieties in the valley. You will indulge in an exquisite lunch with stunning views over the river. Then brace yourself for some evening explorations by 4x4! It's time for an epic tour of Côa Valley by night, where you'll discover its fascintating prehistoric rock art, before devouring an open-air evening meal by the river.

After all this excitement you will have a day at leisure. Pick the standout spa, or for something a little different try cooking classes, paddle boarding, kayaking, and even tree climbing! Prepare yourself for a night of gastronomy with dinner at the Chef's Table, in a cosy little corner of the main kitchen. You'll feel the adrenalin of a working kitchen as they prepare a glorious menu of sublime cuisine in this unique atmosphere.
