Location
Le Refuge de Solaise is situated above Val d’Isere, at the summit of the Solaise gondola in what was once the upper cable car station.
Sitting at a lofty 2,551m and accessible only by the ski slopes or the Solaise Gondola lift, Le Refuge de Solaise is luxurious mountaintop resort above Val d’Isere that offers a tranquil and exclusive ski escape for couples, friends and families.
Perched at 2,551m, Le Refuge de Solaise is cut off from the real world once the Solaise Gondola shuts for the night, offering an intense seclusion and peace far above the village
Rise early and you can ski down the slopes before anyone else has arrived, through fresh powder and virgin snow
This is alpine-chic, with a rustic yet elegant decor throughout the restaurant, spa, library, rooms, apartments and dormitory
The Apartments boast the accolade of being Europe’s highest
An exciting new addition to Val d'Isere for 2019, Le Refuge is located at the top of the Solaise mountain. With three apartments, 34 rooms and a dormitory, Le Refuge de Solaise offers a wide range of accommodation for those looking to truly escape. Reached only by the ski slopes and the gondola, the resort becomes cocooned away from the real world when the lifts shut for the day. Its mountaintop location creates long days and starlit nights, with the sun rising two hours earlier and setting three hours later than in the village, and the lack of light pollution allowing the dazzling star-filled sky to shine.
The Standard, Superior and Family Rooms, Family Suites and the Apartment combines the rustic charm of an alpine cabin with an air of sophistication from the luxurious fabrics and crisp white bed linens while panoramic windows flood them with light. The dormitory is a more pared-back affair, with ingeniously designed cabin beds tucked into the wooden walls, ideal for a group of 14 friends. Sleeping 24 guests, the Apartments are spacious, with eight bedrooms, floor-to-ceiling windows and large living and dining areas affording superb views of the surrounding mountains.
A 25-metre swimming pool, spa and massage treatments add an extra layer of indulgence when not on the renowned ski slopes. A lounge with library offers space to escape, while a restaurant provides classic and regional dishes to be enjoyed in a sociable and comfortable setting of leather armchairs and a semi-formal alpine decor.
Lying at the top of the Solaise gondola, Le Refuge de Solaise affords privileged access to the slopes. Head out before breakfast and you can glide through pristine virgin powder and untouched pistes, a dream for skiers and snowboarders alike.
