In Mývatn, snowmobiling is the preferred way to navigate the rugged Arctic landscape. The guides have grown up riding snowmobiles on their family farms, making it an integral part of their lifestyle and offering a sense of freedom that only a snowmobile can provide. Venture into the night on a snowmobile in search of the Northern Lights. Riding in the dark is quite manageable thanks to the excellent headlights on the snowmobiles. In some situations, traveling at night can actually be advantageous to avoid “snow blindness.” During your adventure, you'll explore diverse landscapes within the Mývatn nature reserve, including frozen wetlands and birch forests. You'll journey away from light pollution, venturing off the beaten path, and turn off the snowmobiles to soak in the darkness. If you're fortunate, you’ll catch the Northern Lights.
Minimum age is 18years old to drive the snowmobile. Available from January – March.
