Best Time to Visit Oman
Oman is bathed in sunshine all year round, perfect for a beach break or heading inland on a more adventurous itinerary.
Oman is a perfect winter sun destination, with the best time to visit between November and April, when the cooler air brings the mountain scenery sharply into focus and daytime temperatures average at 25°C. Warmer clothes may be needed if travelling to the mountains during these months, but temperatures are still pleasant. Salalah offers one of the most pleasant climates in the whole of Arabia and is worth combining with a stay in Muscat.
For the rest of the year, much of Oman is oppressively hot and hazy, particularly between May to August. At this time, the mountains have cooler temperatures than Muscat, where it is less humid and ideal to go walking or cycling. Salalah in the south receives the ‘Khareef’ or Monsoon from July to August which brings out the lush green colours.
