Warren is the ideal base for exploring the attractions of northern Vermont - lakeside Burlington is within a one hour drive, quaint Woodstock within one hour 15 minutes, food-heaven Stowe for the essential Ben & Jerry's visit is just 45 minutes, and for an outlet shopping, fly fishing or off-roading experience you have Manchester in under two hours.
This charming property makes for a magical escape for both couples and families. Its traditional New England wood clad facade, with balconied rooms overlooking the infamous Warren General Store, help add to the surprise when you enter the guest rooms. Each guest room is uniquely designed in a whimsical, Vermont theme, with one to suit every taste. The architect's inspiration came from watching The Beatles 'Yellow Submarine' video, where they find a different fantastical scene behind every door - brilliant! The majority of guest rooms have one king-size bed, though the Ski room has a queen-size pull-out sofa making it a suitable choice for families. Alternatively there are two lovely two-bedroom suites in the "barn" which are a stones throw away from the main house and ideal for families looking for two separate bedrooms and a shared living space.
275 Main and Tracks are The Pitcher Inn's two restaurants. The former is the more formal, a la carte dining option serving wonderful farm to table produce (locally sourced where possible!), where breakfast is also served, and the latter is their lively, firelit tavern serving nourishing dishes, craft beers and wines from their award-winning wine cellar. If travelling over a special occasion, their wine cellar can be reserved for a private dining experience where their chef will prepare a special tasting menu for you to enjoy, surrounded by floor-to-ceiling racks holding their trove of award-winning wines and an abundance of candles flickering on stone walls.
