Alaska Cruising with Silversea

Spend the evening exploring the cosmopolitan city of Vancouver or take a guided gourmet food tour through the cities many delightful dining establishments.

Day 1 - Enjoy a city tour before you board the Silver Muse, taking in key downtown sights such as Robson Street for shopping, Chinatown with its authentic architecture and Gastown which is the area from which Vancouver sprang up. Your final stop will be the picturesque Stanley Park, a huge expanse of parkland and rainforest in the heart of the city, housing a zoo, aquarium, rose garden, open-air theatre and plenty of trails for hiking and biking. Following the tour, you will be transferred to the harbor where you will board your cruise and get settled into your cabins.

Day 2 - Spend the entire day entirely at your leisure, soaking in the spectacular scenery from the panoramic windows. The Inside Passage is famed for its glaciers and mountains, as well as forested fjords and is the perfect introduction to Alaska's wilderness. If you get lucky you may catch a glimpse of the region's rich wildlife!

Day 3 - You will arrive in Sitka in the early morning meaning you can disembark after breakfast to explore this delightful town and familiarise yourself with its eclectic blend of Alaskan, Russian and American history. Visit St. Michael's cathedral, Sheldon Jackson Museum, Castle Hill, Sitka National Historical Park and the Alaska Raptor Centre before boarding the Silver Shadow for an evening of fine dining and entertainment or a quiet drink in the bar.

A full day here will enable you to enjoy a variety of excursions which can be added on to your cruise from fly-fishing to fly-in-hiking, rainforest hikes, biking, safari-style adventures and rafting.

Day 4 - Arrive into Juneau this morning, Alaska's capital, which is only accessible by air or by sea. Explore by private jeep and gain a glimpse into Alaska's gold rush history,  try your hand at dog-sledding or head out to the Mendenhall Glacier by kayak.

Day 5 - Head further north and spend the day exploring Skagway by streetcar or heading into the surrounding forests and mountains to reach picture-perfect waterfalls and enjoy exhilarating adventures including ziplining, horse-riding, biking and rappelling.

Day 6 - Today you will get up close to the Hubbard Glacier, the largest in the whole of North America with a face six miles wide. Watch as chunks of ice calve off into the ocean below, creating waves due to their sheer size.

Day 7 - Your final stop is Seward, early this morning. Surrounded by the Kenai Fjords National Park, Chugach National Forest and Resurrection Bay, Seward boasts a stunning location and is the perfect place to begin your Alaskan adventures on land.
