Robin's House is the perfect choice for young families or friends travelling together. Taken on an exclusive basis with a private guide, chef and host, days here are yours to spend as you please.
The house comprises two separate ensuite bedrooms with a central indoor living area. Depending on weather and temperatures, meals are either served around the dinning table or outside over looking the Luangwa River. The small pool offers respite during the hotter months and provides a welcome distraction for younger travellers too.
Wildlife is regularly seen around camp, with regular hippo sightings at breakfast when the river is in full flow. Surrounded by ebony woodland and open grasslands, the area attracts plenty of game including lion, leopard and even wild dog. Elephants are regular visitors and can often be seen crossing the river into the national park.
Access to the national park is either by boat (2 minutes) or the nearby pontoon (10 minutes). The main bridge and park gates are just 15 minutes away - giving 3 options for entry. This central area of the park is accessible all year and so the wildlife is used to the vehicles guaranteeing excellent sightings and photographic opportunities.
Robin Pope Safaris are renowned for their excellent guiding at all their camps and Robin's House is no exception. With a private guide and host, guests can experience total flexibility as to how they spend their day. Hosts are on hand to help with any babysitting needs giving parents the opportunity to enjoy early morning game drives for example. Robin's House takes children of all ages and activities will be tailored to each party depending on ages. Younger guests can bake biscuits with the chef, learn to paint, or explore the local village meeting some of the local Zambian children too.
Game drives are a great way to discover the wildlife however nature walks and walking safaris are also offered (walking safaris are suitable for children 12 yrs upwards). When the river is high and in full flow (approximately end December - April) boating excursions are also offered - an excellent way to explore the lagoon and enjoy the wonderful bird life.
