I've always loved nature and wildlife. Through travel I have been able to see and do things I never would have dreamed possible before. For this I will be forever grateful. Getting to see nature at its most raw and most beautiful is a true privilege of travel.
Having spent the most part of my twenties living and working in game reserves in South Africa, what was once a passionate hobby became my life. The bush is a place that intrigues me greatly. No two days are ever the same and there is always something to learn. Getting to work for an incredible team dedicated to rhino conservation was a dream come true. I got to play my part in helping this prehistoric-looking giant, that acts as a window into an evolutionary past that we can only begin to imagine when megafauna such as rhinos, elephants and many more roamed all over the planet. I really enjoyed the challenge of tracking big cats. The danger mixed with the thrill of the game was exhilarating and I loved testing my survival skills when faced with tough decisions that needed immediate responses. Africa is magical and truly makes you feel alive and more connected to this world than ever before!
Favourite places I've been
My hot picks
-
Camp Kalahari, Makgadikgadi Pans, Makgadikgadi and the Kalahari, Botswana
The contrast during the different seasons really highlights the raw power of nature for me. It just demonstrates the incredible lengths wildlife has to go to in order to not only survive but thrive! -
Kwandwe Ecca Lodge, Eastern Cape, South Africa
The general manager there Yvonne Short is one of the best there's ever been in the safari industry. I feel privileged to have worked for her during my time in South Africa. The food wherever she works is always the best!

If you want souvenirs, take photos of iconic animals backsides and have them printed on cushions!
