Named after one of the world’s most famous explorer ships, MS Fram (pronounced Frahm, Norwegian for ‘forward’), is a small-scale polar expedition ship which has been designed to make light work of tough ocean waters. With enhanced stability and safety features, ice-strengthened hull, and state of the-art navigation system, her sleek design offers the ultimate in manoeuvrability, bringing the epic polar landscapes, icebergs and wildlife into crystal clear focus.

Onboard, the décor has a fresh Nordic look with blond woods, soothing neutral palette and artwork inspired by both the Arctic and Antarctic landscapes. The ship carries a maximum of 250 passengers and the 125 cabins range from cosy Polar Inside options to Arctic Superior and Expedition Suites. All include ensuite bathroom with shower and bathing amenities, TV, safe, and tea and coffee making facilities. Some Polar Outside cabins include a sofa bed and refrigerator, while some Arctic Superior cabins include a cosy seating area.

Alternatively, the Expedition Suites offer bed combinations for up to four guests and include expansive windows, private balconies and a seating area. Other benefits include a welcome bottle of champagne and complimentary fine dining in the ship’s Lindstrøm Restaurant. Starlink Wi-Fi is provided for all guests, although this doesn’t support streaming and the remote locations can compromise connectivity.

Each cruise includes all-inclusive meals, house drinks and beverages. Meals are served in the main dining room, Aune and the menu is influenced by the ship’s destinations, so expect superb seafood and fish options. While Lindstrøm Restaurant is included for Suite guests, any guest tempted by its fine dining cuisine can book a table at an additional cost. For meeting new friends and relaxing with a drink the Explorer Lounge & Bar has floor-to-ceiling windows offering panoramic views. There is also a fitness room, hot tubs and sauna, ideal for unwinding after a day of excursions.

Trips revolve around exploration and learning, and these fully inclusive cruises include daily excursions and activities such as hikes, community visits, and offshore boat trips. The ship carries a fleet of small expedition boats, known for their comfortable ride, and user-friendliness. To discover more about the polar regions from the onboard team of scientists and hand-picked experts, the Science Centre acts as a hub of knowledge and learning, and guests can also enjoy fascinating talks and presentations in the lecture hall. HX provide complimentary exploration gear and water bottles, along with a digital album and video of the voyage, which all make wonderful souvenirs.
