Best Time to Visit the Arctic

Arctic expeditions only depart between July – September when the Arctic Circle is at its warmest, although that’s not to say it's hot! Temperatures vary between -10°c and 10°c so make sure you pack your thermals.

Best time to visit

The Arctic’s early season (June –July) is a time when Beluga Whales migrate to Hudson Bay & 100s of bird species migrate north to perch on vast rock faces. Late July – August is the time to travel to the Arctic if you are a wildlife enthusiast as arctic foxes, arctic hares and polar bears are all active. Finally, there’s late August – September when the ice is easier to navigate so you will be able to cross the Northwest Passage and see the magnificent landscapes. The Aurora Borealis starts to make an appearance towards the end of this season as well.
