Ovo Patagonia

A unique experience for the truly adventurous, OVO Patagonia is a chance to spend the night suspended above the untamed beauty of Southern Patagonia’s forests, lakes and mountains, enjoying incredible views of Mount Fitz Roy. The brainchild of Federico Echevarría, the entrepreneur behind Estancia Bonanza, each OVO has been designed to deliver an unforgettable encounter with the forces of nature. 

 

This extraordinary travel adventure begins with a 30-minute 4 x 4 transfer from El Chaltén to Estancia Bonanza. Following a half-day guided hike, guests climb to their OVO using the via ferrata accompanied by their guide. Guests must be over 18-years and while good walking and mobility are required, no previous climbing skills are necessary. 

The four dome-shaped OVOs have been created with both safety and comfort in mind. They are suspended at a height of 270m, constructed of polycarbonate and secured to the rockface by specially formulated steel cables. All enjoy 360-degree views of Mount Fitz Roy. 

Each OVO accommodates up to two guests and incorporates three different levels. These include a bedroom on the upper level, a living room and bathroom on the central level and a hangout on the lower level. Guests have access to, solar power and satellite Wi-Fi and there are windows for ventilation and curtains for privacy. Guides deliver meals, snacks and drinks during each stay using the via ferrata. The sunsets are incredible and each OVO includes a telescope to fully appreciate the scenery, as well as the stunning constellations of the night sky.
