Xigera Safari Lodge is located on a riverine island right in the heart of the Okavango Delta. This part of the Moremi Game Reserve is a true wetland paradise, with the lodge surrounded by deep channels and lush vegetation. Permanent water year-round allows a variety of activities such as mokoro trips, game drives and motorboat outings. Xigera Safari Lodge is the only camp in the area - ensuring total privacy.
Comprising twelve stunning suites and plenty of communal space, the lodge is nestled under a canopy of ancient jackalberry, mangosteen and leadwood trees with each suite offering incredible views looking out onto the endless floodplain. The lodge features 11 standard suites, each of which features an ensuite bathroom with outdoor shower, dressing area and a private deck with a gazebo offering spectacular views across the floodplain. The Xigera Family Suite consists of two ensuite bedrooms, connected by an interleading lounge area that opens up onto a private deck.
Surrounded by water, Xigera Safari Lodge is like a secret labyrinth in the heart of the Okavango Delta. It is a paradise for bird watchers, with Pel's fishing owl, African skimmer, slaty egret, wattled crane, a host of raptors and other water birds and colourful kingfishers to be seen. Nature enthusiasts will also be rewarded as the wildlife is excellent and the scenery unrivalled. Game viewing can be particularly enjoyed at Xigera by glass bottomed mokoro (traditional dugout canoe) or by boat, as well as in open 4x4 game vehicles within the Moremi Game Reserve.
