Set along a cobbled street on the banks of the Perequê-açu River in the historic heart of Paraty, Pousada Porto Imperial is a charmingly converted former commercial warehouse dating from 1804. While retaining much of its historic character, the hotel also boasts facilities such as a swimming pool, sauna, wifi and air-conditioning that bring it firmly into the 21st century.
The 43 rooms are simply decorated, with white walls and linens offset by colourful accents in the soft furnishings. Spread across the first and second floors, all rooms are access by stairs, with no lift. With Standard, Superior and Suites, all with various configurations of beds, the accommodation can suit families, couples and friends.
