Necker Island
  • The island can be hired exclusively for groups of up to 40 people

  • During certain weeks of the year visit Necker on one of their Celebration Weeks when individual rooms can be booked by singles or couples to enjoy this fabulous island paradise ’house party’ style

  • Necker Island is also home to 200 flamingos, many lemurs (46 different species), a few giant tortoises and scarlet ibis.

  • Following the fire in 2011, the Great House has been re-built and is looking fabulous, the island has also been re-built following Hurricane Irma in 2017.

Bought in 1979, Necker Island was initially designed by Richard Branson to be his family holiday home but he has since decided to share the wonderfulness of it. Following Hurricane Irma in 2017, Necker Island has now re-opened and is welcoming guests back to the island.

74 acres in size, it is located to the north of Virgin Gorda island and is encompassed with sparkling azure sea, coral reefs and wonderful sandy beaches. Oozing luxury from every detail, the island has hosted many A-list celebrity guests and royalty.

The island is usually hired exclusively for up to 40 adults and an additional 6 children, where guests have the island, facilities and staff to themselves. Alternatively, during ‘Celebration Weeks’, couples or singles can book individual rooms and ‘Family Fun Celebration Week’ is designed for individual families. During celebration weeks, meals are usually taken together at various points around the island.

The Great House has twelve luxury bedrooms and there are six unique Bali houses (sleeping two) dotted around the island for a bit more privacy and situated in the middle of the island is Temple House is a two bedroom suite (sleeping four). There is also a bunk room in the Great House which sleeps up to six children. The Great House is at the heart of the island as it is here where guests come together to enjoy the spacious outdoor terrace with hammocks and sofas, the full stocked bar, snooker table, piano, living room with DVDs and books, and computers. On the roof there is a Jacuzzi – a perfect way to enjoy an early evening drink whilst watching the glorious sunset.

There are approximately 60 members of staff present on the island, meaning you are for want of nothing. They are there to make your stay as enjoyable and as comfortable as possible, whether that is fetching amenities for you, booking excursions or making you an exotic cocktail.

Dining at Necker Island is sure to be one of the highlights of your stay. The rate is all inclusive and guests can set the menu and mealtimes to suit their preferences. The Michelin-trained chefs can professionally prepare dishes from all around the world and they can be served indoors, alfresco, by the pool or on the beach – it is up to you! You can choose themes whether it be a casual beach style dinner or a formal black tie one. The staff are flexible and are at hand to make your experience as special and as individual as possible. Or if you don’t even want to have to think about it, then you can be assured that you will not be disappointed in the quality and deliciousness of the dishes served.

The beaches that fringe the island are idyllic with their powdery white sands and turquoise waters. The two most accessible beaches are Main Beach and Turtle beach. Main Beach is where you will find all the water activities, the Beach Pavilion and the tennis courts. Whereas Turtle Beach is more tranquil with its hammocks and comfortable sun loungers.

Wildlife is abundance at Necker with Lemurs, introduced by Richard after a trip to Madagascar, flamingos, turtles, giant tortoise and a turtle hatching programme.

A stay here does of course come at a price, however this cannot be beaten for a special get together or one off occasion it would be the most unforgettable experience with stories and memories for the rest of your lives.
