Head into rural countryside in the Angkor Archaeological Park on foot for a half day country hike on flat terrain to some of our favourite secret and secluded temples.

The walk begins along an ancient irrigation channel to the moat of Angkor Thom, the ancient city. Follow the walls in the shade of the tall rainforest trees passing through Angkor Krau village to reach the secluded and magical Prasat Prei temple. The entire compound is enclosed by a moat which is filled in the rainy season.

You will then continue for a mile through the bush and small paddy fields to the forest surrounding Prasat Banteay Thom temple. There are no roads to Banteay Thom so you will most likely have this atmospheric temple to yourself. As the sun goes down, you'll enjoy a refreshing drink in this peaceful area before your return to town.

Please note this experience will incorporate 9km of walking. We recommend you have good walking boots or trainers. The route crosses several streams, which you will likely have to walk or wade through. Ensure you also carry plenty of water to keep you hydrated. Light loose clothing gives protection from sun and insects and long trousers stop vegetation scratching legs.
