Whistler Bear Viewing Tour
Whistler has a population of around 50 black bears who have adapted to the alpine environment. This 3-hour tour takes you out to visit the areas most frequented by them with short walks to main feeding sites, day beds and rub trees. Travel by 4x4 vehicle
Whistler and Blackcomb Mountains support a population of up to 50 black bears that have adapted to feeding, mating, and hibernating amongst ski area habitats. In this area are also other wildlife such as Coastal Mountain blacktailed deer, coyote, ruffed grouse, red-tailed hawks, barred and great horned owls, and western hoary marmots.
Riding in a comfortable 4x4 vehicle, you are lead through a maze of ski area roads that traverse the area’s diverse forests, meadows, and stream environments. Take short walks to bear feeding sites, daybeds, rub trees, and old growth trees where bears have hibernated during the winter.
This tour departs from the Bear Viewing Tent located at the Base of Whistler Mountain, opposite the Village Gondola. Please dress in layers with sturdy footwear; bring insect repellent and camera.
Binoculars will be provided. The minimum age 10 years.
