Daocheng Yading
Poetically referred to as "the last virgin ground on the Blue Earth", the Daocheng Yading Nature Reserve has usurped in acclaim as the last true Shangri-La. Its fascinating sacred snow mountain and lake scenery ranks among some of the best in the Tibetan Plateau.
Daocheng Yading can be reached from either Sichuan or Yunnan region, forming part of a major Tibetan pilgrimage site with three holy peaks sanctified by the 5th Dalai Lama: Mount Chenrezing, Jambeyang and Chanadorje, which sits along the rolling valleys of Luorong Pasture dotted with herds of sheeps and cattles grazing in the grass. At the foot of Mount Chenrezig, one can also find the Chonggu Monastery dedicated to the workshopping of the three mountains.
