Walking around the Great Wall of China
Works started on the Great Wall of China as early as 200 B.C and it now stretches from Shanhaiguan by the Yellow Sea to Jiayuguan in the Gobi Desert. Sections of wall have been restored and repaired, offering fantastic walking opportunities.
The Great Wall of China is one of the oldest and greatest feats of engineering in the world and is known in China as the Long Wall of Ten Thousand Li. For those who are energetic, one of the best ways of experiencing the magnificence of the wall is to walk along it. We highly recommend heading to the Mutianyu section and if possible to Jinshanling, as this remote section is less visited than other parts. If you can stretch to it, this walk lasts 4 to 5 hours with your experienced guide.
