Turrialba and Pacuare
The lush virgin rainforest, narrow gorges and rolling hills of the Turrialba Valley are bisected by the pulse-quickening rapids of the Pacuare River, their thundering, white-capped waters offering an exhilarating, adrenaline-inducing way to experience this beautiful landscape. Fertile sugar and coffee plantations dot the hillsides, and vibrant flashes of colourful birds speckle the jungle foliage.
Paddle down the river, navigating the class 3 and 4 rapids, then take time out on the banks to spot the multitude of birdlife and to catch your breath before the next set.
