This means guests benefit from easy access to the 220 slopes of the Evasion Mont Blanc ski area (there’s a lift just 100m away), without having to stay in a large and busy resort. With just 17 rooms and suites and 3 chalets, the Armancette offers guests the type of welcoming and personal ambience of an upmarket ski lodge. Thoughtfully designed, with plenty of wood and stone, the hotel blends into its Alpine village setting, while the contemporary interiors are full of plush and colourful Italian textiles and design.
Each well-appointed guestroom has been individually designed but all are tastefully furnished with huge comfortable beds, wooden flooring, warming rugs, fur throws, furnished balcony, Sonos sound systems, flatscreen TV, Wi-Fi, safe and Nespresso machines. For a good night’s sleep there are electric shutters as well as heavy drapes. The majority of the ensuite marble bathrooms include both a shower and bathtub, with thick fluffy towels, robes, and KOS toiletries. Guests can choose from a village or mountain view. Entry level Mont Joly Double Rooms sleep up to two guests and one even has its own fireplace. For added space, including a seating area, book a Junior Suite or the Junior Suite Mont Blanc for breath-taking top floor views and cosy fireplace. Families can choose from a range of accommodation including rooms sleeping between three and four guests and Duplex Rooms, sleeping up to six guests with multi-bedroom options. Children are well-catered for, with a seasonal children’s club for 4–10 year olds and babysitting on request.
Groups and large families can also book one of three ski-in ski-out chalets on the slopes above the hotel, benefitting from the services of a 5* hotel, while maintaining the utmost in privacy. Located in a small hamlet of four properties, close to the resort of St Gervais, the chalets are around an 8-minute drive from the Armancette. Combining traditional Alpine exteriors with Italian interior design, the chalets all include a prestige concierge service, games for children, shuttle service between the hotel and chalets on arrival and departure, ski room with boot warmers, laundry facilities and garage, along with and access to the children’s club for 4–10 year olds. Chalet guests also have the option to request the services of a chef for breakfasts, snacks, and dinners.
Executive chef, Fabien Laprée presides over a range of dining options. For fine dining, Table d’Armante showcases the best local and artisanal produce of the region, while the Mont Joly bistro is a short walk away, offering home-style traditional dishes full of Alpine flavour. Here you will find the Wine Bar with a menu of almost 800 Grand Crus and vintages, along with the opportunity to enjoy a tasting workshop. Built on the site of a former bakery, the hotel also has a tearoom and Bakery with an in-house baker, serving both guests and locals.
The spa is exceptional with an inviting indoor/outdoor pool, outdoor hot tubs overlooking the stunning mountain views, hammam, sauna, treatment rooms and a 24-hour fitness room. There are also terrace loungers from which to enjoy the views. Inside, guests can relax in the cosy lounge over a board game.
