South Shore safari
On this amazing guided safari you will see the South Shore’s most treasured natural sights, including impressive waterfalls, epic landscapes, as well as its black lava sand beaches and dunes.
The south coast of Iceland is an incredibly diverse region and makes for an adventure packed tour.
With impressive volcanoes to one side and vast black sand beaches to the other, explore this magical area with your private guide, stopping at the mighty Seljalandsfoss waterfall where you can walk behind the water and feel the cold spray on your face!
You'll follow the glacier river from Sólheimajökull down to the black sand beaches lining the roaring North Atlantic ocean. Explore the beautiful Reynisfjara beach, where you'll spot the dramatic Reynisdrangar sea stacks jutting out from the water, which are said to be trolls turned into stone according to Icelandic legend.
You’ll also visit Dyrhólaey; a 120 meter high rock inhabited by a variety of bird species, including the charming puffin (between May to mid-August), as well as the famous Skógafoss waterfall, one of the largest in Iceland at an impressive 60 meters in height. Due to the spray produced by the cascading falls, stunning rainbows are often clearly visible on sunny days.
To top off an incredible day, we’ll make a short stop at the Sólheimajökull glacier tongue where you get to observe this awesome glacier up close.
