Visit the Westman Islands
Head away from mainland Iceland to discover the fascinating Westman Islands, located just off the country's south coast. Take the ferry to Heimaey, the only inhabited island in the archipelago, and explore its dramatic landscape with your private guide.
The Westman Islands (or Vestmannaeyjar) is an archipelago comprised of 15 islands situated off the south coast of Iceland. Take the ferry to Heimaey, where you'll be surrounded by towering cliffs before hiking to the top of Eldfell. This volcano erupted in 1973 and plays a huge part in the island's history, which you'll learn about in the museum. Join a boat trip around the island to admire the scenery and keep an eye out for the puffins that inhabit the island, and you could even try 'Spranga' - a truly unique sport only practised on Heimaey!
