Central to Sikhism is The Adi Granth, holy book, which rests on a throne under a jewel encrusted canopy.

You can also return in the evening to witness the 'putting to bed ceremony' - Palki Sahib Ceremony.

Palki Sahib ceremony is when the 'Guru Granth Sahib' is carried to a room for the night. This is a very symbolic gesture.

The holy singing stops, certain hymns are read by the respected priest, then the book is closed. After performing the prayers, the book is then placed in a golden palanquin which is carried by all the devotees who are lined up to give Seva - Volunteer work.

The entire ceremony is very spectacular and spiritual!
