Average time to visit

It is very difficult to predict the weather in Ireland - in the summer from May to late September is generally seen as the most pleasant time to visit. Rainfall is difficult to predict - but Ireland does not receive as much as many are led to believe! In the winters, temperatures do fall, but there is nothing better than finding a remote pub with a roaring fire to sit beside after a long walk in the country.

Itinerary

Day 1-3

Dublin City Centre

This wonderful introduction to Ireland begins in Dublin's fair city, where you’ll stay in the heart of the city, so you have an excellent base as well as the services of our fantastic team to help you explore.

Dublin is a city filled with history and we’ve included some special highlights to get you behind the scenes starting with a very special pre-opening tour of the Book of Kells, allowing you to marvel at these mesmerising medieval texts without the crowds. From here, we’ll take you on a privately-guided visit of the General Post Office on a specialist history tour detailing the 1916 Easter Rising. This fascinating interactive tour includes live footage and artefacts of events which lead to the Irish Republic.

Over the years Irish cuisine has developed from simple ingredients of potatoes, meat and vegetables to create fresh, gourmet dishes. During a private cooking class discover the modern interpretations of classic recipes as you learn to cook dishes alongside an expert chef. Of course, once all the food is prepared it will not go to waste as you are invited to dine and enjoy your traditional dishes, perhaps accompanied by a local tipple!

For your final day in Dublin we are taking you just over an hour south of the city into the Wicklow Mountains National Park, the largest of Ireland’s National Parks. Your first stop is Hunting Brook Gardens for an exclusive tour with the owner. Featuring 15 acres of woodland and five acres of botanical gardens, Hunting Brook is one of the largest gardens in Ireland and a wonderful collection of vibrant, colourful plants.

Ireland is renowned for its ales and whiskeys, however you may be surprised to learn that wine is also produced here. On a guided tour of a local artisan winery, you’ll meet the inviting founders for a personal tour. The flagship wine here is a Móinéir Irish Strawberry Wine, where each bottle is made up of up to 150 hand-picked strawberries! Enjoy a tasting along with two of their other award-winning wines alongside some delicious Irish snacks.

Accommodation: The Merrion ( 2 nights )
Day 3-6

Adare, Co. Limerick, Ireland

Leaving Dublin behind, your private chauffeur takes you to south-west Ireland today, towards Limerick to a truly Iconic hotel, Adare Manor. Set in 840 acres of parkland Adare Manor offers a luxurious castle hotel with exquisite furnishings and a plethora of activities. Due to host the Ryder Cup in 2026, the championship golf courses here are some of the best in Europe. However, the activity options here go well beyond golf with archery, fishing, horse riding and many more country pursuits on offer. A real highlight here are the falconry experiences and we’ve included a private experience especially for you. Guided by an expert falconer get up close to the majestic birds of prey ranging from tiny scoop owls to beautiful Harris hawks.

After a restful night - perhaps sampling the delights of Adare’s Michelin-starred restaurant - we’ve included a very special day trip for you, showcasing the very best of an undiscovered Ireland. Climbing aboard a motor yacht we’ll take you for an insightful day exploring medieval castles and Georgian manor houses, sampling some exquisite food and getting immersed in Irish culture along the way. We do not want to give too much so you can enjoy some surprises along the way, however this is sure to be a memorable experience you’ll treasure forever.

For your next day we’re taking you to the Burren national park- a striking limestone park where you’ll enjoy a guided walk as well as a private tour of the Burren Perfumery. Here you’ll find Ireland’s oldest perfume house, where inspiration and scents are taken from the land in the form of plants and wild flowers. Discover the different scents and learn of the traditional methods used to make perfumes, candles and soaps.

Accommodation: Adare Manor ( 3 nights )
Day 6-9

County Laois, Ireland

Your final stop takes you to the very heart of Ireland to County Laois and the charming, boutique country house of Ballyfin. The relaxed setting here, surrounded by parkland and the stunning Irish scenery is the perfect way to end your trip where you can choose to be as active or relaxed as you wish. Perhaps you might like to head to the boating lake with one of the hotel’s rowing boats, take a walk around the grounds, or simply cosy up next to the fire with a good book and a glass of Irish coffee in hand. So that you can make the most of the beautiful grounds we’ve included a pony trekking lesson as well as a private pic-nic for you. Of course this can be adapted depending on how active you’d like to be!

Speaking of whiskey, we’ve included a private visit to Tullamore distillery, where you’ll meet a whiskey expert for a tour and tasting, learning the steps to make this iconic craft. We’ve also included a guided visit of the Irish National Stud, a stud farm where many championship race horses have been bred and trained. Horse racing holds a strong tradition in Ireland and there is a real sense of national pride here, making this a really special visit.

For your final day you have the option to choose what you’d like to do- perhaps you’d like to visit the 100 designer boutiques at Kildare village or perhaps continue to explore Ireland’s vast landscapes and medieval castles. Whatever you choose you’ll leave with a heart full of Irish charm.
