Average time to visit

The best time to visit the Amalfi Coast is in spring or late summer, when temperatures are pleasant and humidity levels are low. In July and August the climate is hot and humid, while the area is busy with tourists. The climate in Puglia is generally warm sunny and dry in April/May and again in October with the risk of the odd shower of rain. By June the weather settles in a pattern of long hot sunny days and balmy evenings, especially in July and August when it can be a little humid.

Day 1-4

Praiano, Amalfi Coast, Italy

Let your epic Italian adventure begin, kicking off near Positano, where you'll soak up the delights of the Amalfi Coast. Spend three nights at the effortlessly chic Casa Angelina, prime location for insta-perfect sunsets with a G&T in hand, featuring Phillipe Starck furniture, netbooks, and Nespresso machines in some room categories. The boutique hotel offers free use of umbrellas and loungers at the Gavitalla Beach, down a long flight of steps beneath the hotel.

Try your hand at cooking traditional Italian pizza or pasta and explore this picture-perfect secluded coastline. Set off to explore all that Positano has to offer, or venture further afield to discover the bustling towns dotted along the Amalfi Coast. Discover one of the Amalfi Coast's most celebrated delicacies at a local limoncello farm, where you'll learn about the production process and sample some of the delicious liqueur. Take a day trip by private boat to the beautiful island of Capri, visit nearby vineyards for wine tastings, or just unwind and enjoy the breath-taking views.

Day 4-6

Basilicata

Continue east to Italy’s undiscovered Basilicata region, home to a unique landscape of hilltop towns, mountain ranges and verdant forests. Here you’ll spend two nights in the quiet village of Bernalda at Palazzo Margherita, owned by renowned film director Francis Ford Coppola, who has lovingly converted the building into a very luxurious boutique hotel. Relax in the fragrant garden, ideal for whiling away the balmy afternoons with a book, or take a cooling dip in the 10 metre swimming pool.

With your expert private guide discover the breath-taking town of Sassi di Matera, where ancient cave houses, known as the sassi, have been carved into the cliffs and are truly fascinating to explore.  Head back to your hotel for a glass of something cool as you watch the sun set in this slice of heaven.

Puglia, Italy

Jump back in your car and continue to Italy’s south-east coast for your final stop in the charming and unique Puglia. This sun-drenched region is one of Italy’s most picturesque, boasting a number of vineyards, crystal-clear waters and long sandy beaches as well as the iconic trulli houses to explore. You will be spending four nights at Borgo Egnazia, one of the Mediterranean’s most luxurious hotels. Set within 20 hectares the hotel has been inspired by a traditional Apulian village.
