Rome enjoys a typically Mediterranean climate. Summers (from June to September) are hot and dry with temperatures often soaring to 37°C. High humidity is also common, particularly in July and August. Winter tends to be moderate, at least by northern European standards, with temperatures averaging around 10°C to 15°C between December and February. Spring (March to June) and early autumn (September and October) are the best times to visit Rome, with lovely blue skies and mild temperatures. November and December are the two wettest months.

Starting in mid-June, the summer rush really picks up, and from July to mid-September the Rome teems with visitors. August is the worst month: Not only does it get uncomfortably hot, muggy, and crowded, but the entire country goes on vacation at least from August 15 to the end of the month (many Italians take off the entire month). Many hotels, restaurants, and shops are closed.

Itinerary

Day 1-5

Rome, Italy

Your Roman holiday begins in resplendent style as you are welcomed into the embrace of Hotel de la Ville, a masterpiece where Italian artistry melds seamlessly with impeccable service. Nestled in the heart of Rome, this icon of luxury shall be your sanctuary for four enchanting nights. Style and comfort resonates through exquisitely appointed suites, each a testament to the fusion of modern elegance and classic charm and cocooned from the bustling rhythms of the city.

As the sun dips beneath the horizon, enveloping Rome in a bewitching embrace of twilight, you shall embark on an ethereal Panoramic Evening Tour. A private chauffeur shall guide you through iconic avenues and secret lanes, where every cobblestone seems to whisper tales of antiquity. The city unveils its nocturnal splendor as monumental wonders are bathed in an ethereal glow, a breathtaking spectacle that mirrors the grandeur of ancient Rome.

With the dawn comes a voyage through the annals of history. A privileged passage grants you exclusive access to the Colosseum and Roman Forum, where echoes of gladiatorial valour and political intrigue linger in the air. An erudite guide, well-versed in the lore of yore, shall unfurl the tales of emperors and citizens, transporting you through time to an era where Rome reigned supreme.

A private cooking class awaits, nestled within the intimate embrace of a chef's apartment. Under the expert guidance of a culinary virtuoso, you shall unravel the secrets of crafting authentic Italian delicacies. From kneading the finest flour into pasta dough to balancing the symphony of herbs that infuse Tuscan sauces, every moment shall be a crescendo of taste and technique.

Prepare to be swept into the divine embrace of Vatican City, a beacon of artistic and spiritual grandeur. Wander through the hallowed halls of the Vatican Museums, where each brushstroke and sculpted contour echoes the devotion of artists through the ages. Your journey culminates in the sanctum of St. Peter's Basilica, a testament to faith and architectural mastery.

Next, Tivoli beckons, a tranquil interlude in the narrative of Rome's grandeur. Amidst the verdant embrace of Villa d'Este, revel in the splendor of Renaissance gardens that cascade with fountains and mythological sculptures, a harmonious marriage of nature and human artistry. The echoes of antiquity resound at Hadrian's Villa, an imperial retreat adorned with marbles that have borne witness to the passage of centuries.

And so, the final chapter unfurls as you bid adieu to the eternal city. With hearts full of cherished memories and minds forever enriched, you shall embark on a flight homeward, carried by the whispers of history, the elegance of luxury, and the ineffable beauty of Italy.
