Located just 15 minutes away from Miyajimaguchi Station, surrounded by tranquil and beautifully manicured gardens, The Sekitei provides a haven of relaxation. The twelve rooms are designed with individual character but what they do have in common is that they all come complete with private onsen baths and incredible views.
Each room is in the Japanese style, with Tatami and a separate living area, dining area and two reading and relaxation rooms in which to enjoy the fantastic views. Seating in dining room is either Western or Japanese in style, depending on your room. The decor is very traditional in style, which adds to the charm with walkways between rooms being open to the elements and close to nature, with natural building materials playing a large role in the design and feel of the entire Ryokan.
To add to the relaxing atmosphere there is a public male and female bathing area, or onsen, a lounge where you can enjoy sake tasting before dinner and sweet treats after, two separate salons and a library equipped with a cosy log fire and plenty of books to curl up with.
Dining at The Sekitei is an event in itself with breakfast and dinner served in the comfort of your own room, in the traditional way. The dishes are all as beautiful as they are delicious and the array of different and interesting flavours is outstanding.
