Jashita is a stunning eco-chic barefoot boutique hotel set on a glorious half-moon cove fringed with white sand in a secluded location just 10km north of Tulum on Mexico's Riviera Maya. Enjoy privacy and exclusivity in an unspoilt setting.
One the of best snorkelling spots on the Riviera Maya due to the protected cove
Owned by a Venetian family with impeccable taste, attention to detail and personal service
The best of both worlds - a stunning secluded location (hard to find on the Riviera Maya!) but just a 10-minute taxi ride from Tulum and its hip restaurant scene
Superb for couples and honeymooners
Jashita is a beautiful oceanfront boutique hotel ten minutes by car from Tulum and located on a secluded stretch of Soliman Bay. The coral reef offshore protects the bay so the glassy turquoise waters are calm, and great for snorkelling.
Jashita affords 21 beautifully appointed rooms and suites blending laid-back beach sophistication with a minimalist Zen style with natural stone floors, luxurious Italian linens, and deluxe bathrooms. The colours of the Caribbean have inspired the decor of the Venetian built hotel, and it is clear that every detail has been resided over.
A large stone Buddha greets guests in the serene lobby area of the hotel, beautifully fitted with Indonesian carved-wood doors, Moroccan art, relaxing sitting areas and a library of reading books to while away an afternoon. The hotel's Sahara Cafe adjoining serves delicious and locally sourced Mexican and international dishes with both indoor and outdoor dining. Fisherman head out on a daily basis to catch fish for the evening's meal, giving you the chance to sample some exquisite fresh food.
Although the seas are superb for cooling off during the heat of the day, Jashita also has its own pool and some of the guest's rooms come equipped with plunge pools. The waters in the bay are quite shallow (waist deep). The secluded location of the hotel creates for a serene experience in which you will truly be able to relax, and enjoy the stunning surroundings.
When to visit
Jashita has a great restaurant, but for a change of scenery try the beach-side fish shack further down the beach where locals dish up fresh ceviche and cold Mexican beers.
