At this altitude (2240m above sea level), Mexico City rarely gets too hot therefore can be enjoyed at any time of year. The hotter months of May and June, and the rainy season (June-September), when the capital experiences a downpour most afternoons may want to be avoided. Pollution is in maximum effect in the hot, dry season of spring, from late February to early May. Busy times include the MACO Contemporary Arts Festival (April), the Pride march (late June), the Cake Festival (August) and Fashion Week (October).

Day 1-4

Mexico City, Mexico City and Puebla, Mexico

Kick-start this exceptional adventure at Las Alcobas Hotel, nestled in the heart of one of Mexico City’s most exclusive neighbourhoods. Located right next to one of Mexico’s most highly regarded restaurants, Dulce Patria, and with a top-class restaurant of its own, foodies will be in heaven. Step outside of the hotel and there are multiple bars, restaurants and shops and the city’s best museums just a short walk away. 
Rise early for an guided epic journey to Teotihuacan Pyramids, starting with a hot air balloon ride. This is most worthy of the early morning start! See the sunrise over the Valley of Teotihuacán as you pass over the pyramids of the Sun and the Moon. Once the gentle flight is over devour a delicious breakfast at a nearby restaurant. Continue to explore the archaeological zone while learning about the rituals, cosmology and beliefs of the Aztecs.  Take a restful afternoon before your thrilling evening experience where you will submerge in the splendour of an out of hours private tour of the National Museum of Anthropology with exclusive access of the fascinating artifacts from various cultures that once thrived in Mesoamerica. One of the most important pieces housed at the museum is the 24-ton Aztec Sunstone. Admire its intricate craftsmanship as your guide explains the legend of the five suns that is depicted in the stone. After this utterly thrilling tour you will be taken back to the hotel to relax for the evening.  
Your adventure continues with a full day’s experience learning about the art, culture and politics that pushed boundaries in Mexico last century. Known as the ‘Art, Politics and Love Triangle' explore Frida Kahlo´s artwork and tumultuous personal life, Leon Trotsky´s revolutionary politics and controversy, finishing with an in-depth look into Diego Rivera´s passionate lifestyle, art and legacy.  Soak up your final evening in Mexico City before you head to Puebla the following day.

Day 4-6

Puebla, Mexico City and Puebla, Mexico

The limitless horizons of Puebla await you. Bid farewell to Mexico City as your private transfer journeys south to Puebla via Paso de Cortes, one of the highest roads in Mexico. Gasp in wonder at the most mesmerising views taking in the Malintzin volcano and the Orizaba Peak, Ajusco volcano in Mexico City, the Valley of Mexico and the Sierra de Las Cruces. Stop to enjoy a regional lunch where you will taste fresh blue corn quesadillas stuffed with Chicken Tinga or Squash Blossoms with a warm cup of Atole or coffee. Continue to Cholula to walk the tunnels and climb the temple dedicated to the god Quetzalcoatl.   The journey ends at the beautiful Banyan Tree Puebla hotel, located in one of Puebla’s most esteemed neighbourhoods. Set within the historic city centre, the hotel showcases contemporary art from local artists. As well as the renowned Banyan Tree Spa you can enjoy an Italian restaurant, Trattoria Cello, and Banyan Tree's signature Thai restaurant, Saffron, which sits on the rooftop terrace and has views of the city. After your gourmet breakfast, you are in for a real treat with an exclusive tour through Puebla’s historic city centre, taking in the Cathedrals, Palafoxiana library and the Amparo Museum. After lunch visit either the Amparo, one of the most important historical museums in Mexico, or the Museo Internacional del Barroco, a museum that focuses on the complex Baroque period of the 17th and 18th centuries. 
Full of fascinating cultural highlights, architectural feats and incredible sights, head back to your hotel for your final night on the stunning trip.
