Lucie Richardson
North America is my favourite part of the world! I have been lucky enough to explore many parts of the USA covering, California, Texas, Arizona, Las Vegas, Utah, Florida, Louisiana, New York, Virginia, New England and Colorado. I also love Canada and have spent time in British Columbia, Alberta, Montreal, Ottawa and most recently the Canadian Arctic.
Highlights of my travels include, admiring the Grand Canyon from a helicopter, trying my hand at cattle penning on a ranch, driving the Big Sur in California, spotting wild bears in the Canadian Rockies, getting up close to wild alligators in the Florida Everglades, dining on a steamboat on the Mississippi whilst listening to a live jazz band and spotting a wild Polar Bear in the Canadian Arctic. I love the huge variety that North America has to offer, long sandy beaches, interesting history and culture, buzzing cities, dude ranches, dramatic and stunning scenery and incredible wildlife.

"Completely surpassed our expectations on every front – all so perfectly organised, it made it so easy for us. We fitted so much in, which was down to your expertise – if I'd been planning the holiday on my own, I would never have believed we could cover all that with a 6 year old – in just 12 days."
My hot picks
-
Moraine Lake Lodge, Lake Louise, Alberta, Canada
This lodge is situated on one of the most beautiful lakes in Canada, tucked away from it all. A prime location for exploring the pristine wilderness that surrounds it. -
Smith Fork Ranch, Crawford and Gunnison National Forest, The Rockies, United States of America
This small ranch has only 28 rooms, offering a truly personalised experience and ideal for active families.
My top tips

Spending time on a ranch is a great addition to any trip to North America. They are great for beginners or more experienced horse riders looking to develop their skills. Try your hand at cattle penning or roping, it is a huge amount of fun!
-
A helicopter ride over the Grand Canyon is an absolute must. On the trip from Las Vegas you can actually land in the canyon and enjoy some champagne!
-
Antelope Canyon in Arizona is stunning, you must book a trip early though, try to book the 11am excursion to get the best photos!
