Black Rock Lodge
Black Rock Lodge is a unique eco-lodge in the Cayo District of Belize. Surrounded by jungle wilderness and perched above the rushing Macal River, it is superbly located to explore the best of the region.
Approximately 40 minutes from San Ignacio town on a bumpy yet scenic drive, Black Rock lodge is hidden in a stunning rainforest location. The lodge serves as the perfect base to enjoy a plethora of outdoor adventures which include canoeing down the Macal River, horseback riding along jungle trails and exploring the Mayan ruins of Xunantunich and Caracol. The private rainforest reserve is also teeming with wildlife including over 200 species of birds, monkeys, tapirs and the elusive jaguar. Night hiking along the lodges’ marked trails at night is a great way to see the jungle at its liveliest and discover a variety of flora and fauna.
The Lodge’s 14 cabins boast stunning views of Black Rock Canyon, the Macal River and the surrounding rainforest. An inviting hammock is provided to enjoy the spectacular surroundings in total relaxation. The cabins are airy one-room structures built to take advantage of the fresh mountain breezes. Fully screened windows and high pitched roof lines create a bright and refreshing rainforest home for their guests. All cabins have en-suite bathrooms and closet areas. Simply decorated, the cabins display artwork created by local artisans and craftspeople. The recent addition of the two riverfront suites adds a modern, open-plan style of accommodation in a magnificent, private setting; perfect for honeymooners.
On days at leisure, the lodge provides an array of complimentary activities which includes river tubing, hiking through the rainforest on miles of marked trails, mountain biking and swimming in the river's clear waters.
