Matachica Resort & Spa is located 5 miles north of San Pedro surrounded by lush tropical vegetation and marine wildlife and within easy reach of Belize's Great Barrier Reef, one of the finest diving spots in the world.
Matachica has a very individual Caribbean style and is made up of brightly coloured thatched roof cabañas, housing 26 rooms with contemporary rustic-style furnishings, spacious bathrooms, air conditioning and hammocks.
The atmosphere is very relaxed with large open living areas and a lovely award-winning restaurant serving fresh seafood, amongst other dishes. The beachfront bar offers the perfect place to unwind or why not watch a film in the Cinema-Martini lounge.
Indulge in a rejuvenating massage and spa treatments at Matachica’s Jade Spa, swim with nurse sharks, turtles, and stingrays or enjoy a variety of day excursions including snorkelling, scuba diving, river trips to the Mayan ruins and fishing.
There is sea grass in front of Matachica’s shores, which makes swimming or snorkelling from the beach not really possible. We therefore recommended that guests swim off the jetty or head out by boat for an ocean dip. Sea grass is a natural occurrence and a vital element of the ecological marine world as many ocean species thrive on it to survive.
