Kicheche Valley Camp
  • Kicheche operate just four guests per vehicle, giving you loads of space and an exclusive experience

  • The camp has a great bush spa, a massage is the perfect way to relax after the morning activities and prepare yourself for the afternoon

  • Part of the Kicheche Community Trust, a non-profit organisation focussing on work with the local communities

  • Just six tents in the exclusive Naboisho Conservancy, a small, authentic and memorable safari experience

The Naboisho Conservancy is a beautiful 50,000 hectare conservancy dotted with granite outcrops and permanent pools which attract a variety of wildlife. To the north are enormous plains and the area is close to the Enniskeria river region and within easy reach of a large variety of habitats from savannah grasslands to acacia woodland and riverine forest, meaning a good amount of game to be found!

Kicheche Valley is a small, intimate tented camp with just six tents dotted amongst the trees and rocky outcrops. With such a small number of rooms, the camp accommodates a maximum of twelve guests, thus guaranteeing an exclusive and uncrowded experience.

Kicheche Valley’s tents are supremely comfortable and nestled within the rocky outcrops so characteristic of the camp. Each has views of the plains and is on a raised deck with a supremely comfortable bed crafted from cedar wood, soft rugs and an en-suite bathroom with shower. The main area is a lovely place to relax in the heat of the day and there is a small library for those who wish to learn more about the surroundings and their wildlife. The lounge also overlooks a natural spring which attracts wildlife, so bring your binoculars and be ready to game-view from the comfort of your armchair!

The camp prides itself on being staffed and managed by people trained in its sister-camps, and the guides are qualified to the highest possible standard. The guiding is exceptional and activities include day and night game drives and walks with your guide. The game is exceptional with huge populations of giraffe (the largest population in the Mara) and the camp is close to an elephant “corridor” – a pathway the elephants use to move from one area to another so great sightings are guaranteed. Leopard and cheetah are often spotted along with the more elusive and rarer cats such as serval and caracal. Lions are present in the area and their calls can often be heard reverberating along the valleys at night. Nature walks are a highlight, escorted by your guide and armed ranger, or guests can also choose to visit a local Maasai village.
