Spekes Camp
  • Each set of guests that stay at Speke’s camp will have the benefit of a private guide, tracker and vehicle. You will have so much freedom to explore the Masai Mara at your own pace; follow a coalition of cheetah through the savannah or sit and wait in anticipation at a prime river crossing spot. The choice is yours.

  • This small and authentic tented safari camp is located right in the wilderness of the Masai Mara. As you sip a cold beer by the campfire, listen to the sound of lions gently roaring in the distance.

  • Enjoy your meals in true safari style; Go on a full day game drive and enjoy a scrumptious lunch overlooking a waterhole and watch the action unfold!

Speke's camp is an affordable tented camp comprising eight comfortable, traditional safari tents with double or twin beds, luggage racks, a desk and seating area. Each has an en-suite bathroom with flushing loo and hot traditional safari bucket shower.

Meals are served in the 'mess tent' or outside, so guests can enjoy the views with their lunch or marvel at the African night sky over dinner.

All guests have their own private game vehicle which has to be one of the camp's main draw cards setting itself apart from other camps in the Mara. With a private guide and vehicle, guests have total flexibility of how they spend their day choosing from full day drives following the migration stopping for a picnic lunch under the shade of an acacia or enjoying a bush breakfast overlooking the Musiara swamp watching the wildlife to come to you before retuning to camp for a siesta and home cooked lunch.

For the more adventurous, Speke's camp can also arrange five day walking safaris led by Maasai guides starting from Speks's Camp walking across the open plains east towards to the Loita Hills. This is an incredible experience for those looking to immerse themselves in the African bush following ancient Maasai trails.
