Places to Visit in Nepal
When visiting Nepal, a trip would always start in the countries fast paced capital, Kathmandu. Bodnath Stupa and Swayambhunath stupa are a must to visit at sunset, perched above the city enjoy the noise fluttering of prayer flags as you watch the sun set on another day in this colourful country.
Kathmandu has its famous Durbar Square which though being damaged in the earthquake is being re-built to its former glory so definitely worth heading here with your informative guide. If you would like to head off hiking in the Himalayas then head to the Annapurna region, to get here you will fly into Pokhara where a night in this lake town is recommended. You will then begin ascending towards Annapurna, along the way stopping each night in charming hill villages to re-coup before another day in the shadow of the mountains. Another area of Nepal to visit is Chitwan, like all the main areas of Nepal you do need to fly here from the rest of the country. If you have been on a safari’s before then Chitwan may not be quite on that level but if you catch a glimpse (which is definitely possible) of a rhino, tiger or clouded leopard it is worth it.
