Itinerary

Day 1-4

On Land: Iguaçu Falls, Brazil

Your adventure begins on land as you arrive at Cataratas International Airport, where your private transfer will meet you and take you to the Hotel das Cataratas, A Belmond Hotel in the Iguaçu National Park, your home for the next three nights. You will be blown away by the spellbinding location of this exclusive hotel, just a short walk from the spectacular Iguazu Falls. 
Here you will be fully immersed in the vast beauty and activities the park has to offer, with access to all the catwalks where the falls can be viewed as well as the gas-propelled train which will take you to the upper falls circuit and the Devil’s Throat. Followed by the lower circuit catwalks with striking views closer to the Iguassu River, the falls, and the landscape. For a burst of wild adventure take the Gran Aventura boat tour, one of the most remarkable experiences in the region as you experience direct and wet contact with the mighty Iguassu Falls. You will board special zodiac boats that will take you at high speed downstream from the falls, a journey filled with excitement and fun, enhanced by the stunning scenery of the cliffs formed by waterfalls. 
On your third day you will visit the Itaipu Dam, the second largest dam in the world, with 20 turbines and 8km wide. Followed by a visit to the world-class standard Bird Park, within four hectares of second-growth subtropical forest, with over 500 birds, both indigenous, and from other continents. Walk the myriad of walkways, where you can view all the different species in life-size aviaries without the restriction of nets or cages.

Day 4-7

On Land: Paraty, Southern Coast, Brazil

Today you leave the hotel and transfer to the airport for your flight to Rio de Janeiro. Once landed your guide will join your private transfer to your hotel Casa Turquesa, located in the colonial heart of the charming town of Paraty, where you will stay for the next three nights. Spend the remainder of your day at leisure enjoying the beautiful hotel and its facilities. 
The next day you will explore Paraty on a superb walking tour, taking you through the centre of the town, where you will trace the history, legends, and stories of the last century. Soak up Paraty´s architecture and character, with its irregular sidewalks, thick decorated walls, colonial constructions and freemasonry culture. Visiting some of the most important sights of the city such as the House of Culture, and the Matriz church. Spend the remainder of the day at your leisure.  
The following day enjoy a private speed boat tour to some of the beautiful beaches of Paraty Bay, which is made up of 65 islands. Swim, snorkel and relax on this fantastic trip taking in the beautiful landscape views, along with your captain and expert guide sharing their knowledge of the area along the way.

Day 7-8

On Land: Manaus, Amazon, Brazil

After your three nights in Paraty you will picked up and taken to the airport where you will fly to Manaus. Your transfer will meet you and take you to the Villa Amazônia hotel, where you will stay for one night to rest before your onward journey to the Amazon Rainforest.

Day 8-11

On Land: Amazon, Brazil

After breakfast you will picked up from your hotel for the three-hour transfer to the gorgeous Anavilhanas Jungle Lodge in the Amazon Rainforest. Check in and spend the rest of the day at your leisure enjoying the lodge facilities and taking in the breathtaking scenery. During your stay here you will have a choice of exhilarating activities that you can all enjoy together from the lodge. Pick and choose what you would like to do over the next two days. 
The lodge offers a vast range of exciting to enjoy, such as canoeing through the Igapós, and Igarapés in dug-out canoes, bird watching, jungle walks and fishing. Exploring the many islands and observing their unique ecosystems, visit to the Amazonian pink river dolphins in Novo Airão, nocturnal sightseeing at Anavilhanas Archipelago, hiking through the forest with local guides, sunrise contemplation, practicing bow and arrow with original Waimiri-Atroari’s artifacts and visiting isolated local communities, where you will have the chance to get to know their lifestyle, traditions and agriculture. In your downtime between excursions you can enjoy the superb lodge facilities, take strolls at your leisure and enjoy the delicious food and friendly hospitality throughout your stay.

Day 11-30

At Sea: Brazil to Spain

After your three nights in Manaus you will picked up and taken to the airport where you will fly back to Rio de Janeiro.  Here your sensational voyage onboard Scenic Eclipse will begin. With 20 glorious days ahead of you, take some time to settle into your suite and enjoy a crisp glass of Champagne, take in your new surroundings and the ship’s finer offerings, from delicious cuisine, sensational facilities and exemplary service.  
During your time on this cruise, you will enjoy carefully curated shore excursions, allowing you to explore each destination exactly as you wish. Whether visiting iconic sights, immersing yourself in local culture, or discovering the untamed natural beauty. In small groups you will join other like-minded guests, taking you on expertly guided excursions designed by the Scenic destination experts. Enjoy a mouthwatering evening meal before you set sail through the night to your first stop on the itinerary. 
 
Day 12: Buzios, Brazil 
Awake to the upscale fishing village of Buzios, donned with fine restaurants, ritzy boutiques, and chic bars, bursting with charm waiting to be explored. 
Day 13-14: At sea 
You will spend the next two days at sea. The perfect chance to relax into ocean life and enjoy everything the ship has to offer, from the rejuvenating spa, soaking in the sun by the pool, enjoying Discovery team lectures or the varied entertainment and activities on offer.   
Day 15: Salvador de Bahia 
Awake to the fascinating port of Salvador de Bahia, one of the oldest colonial cities in the Americas. The streets are lined with colourful buildings, where music plays at all hours of the day and people dance through the streets to the sound of beating drums. 
Day 16-17: At sea 
Relax into another two days at sea, where you can choose to do as you wish. Maybe an al fresco lunch at the Yacht Club, an invigorating gym session or relax poolside with a drink in hand.  
Day 18: Fernando de Noronha 
Take breakfast today overlooking the crystal-clear waters of Fernando de Noronha a UNESCO world heritage site with staggering beauty. An archipelago made up of 21 islands with tropical landscapes, lush vegetation, rugged cliffs, and pristine beaches.  
Day 19-21: At sea 
Spend the next three days at sea as you sail towards Cape Verde. This will give you plenty of time to relax into the ocean way of life and enjoy everything this wonderful ship has to offer. 
Day 22: Praia, Cape Verde 
Arrive at Cape Verde for two days of exploration, from the capital of Santiago to the outer atoll of São Vicente. You will get discover its pottery, hand dyed textiles, paintings, instruments and sculptures discover the artisanal markets, whilst meandering the quiet streets, surrounded by intriguing colonial architecture. 
Day 23: Porto Novo 
Today you can explore the local fishing village of Porto Novo on the island of Santo Antão, with its immense volcanic walls that tower over green peaks and valleys. Take in the colonial history and try the national drink, the famous Cape Verde rum, or ‘grogue’ as it’s known.  
Day 24 -25: At sea 
Bask in the glory of the ship as you sail onwards to Tenerife, relishing in the fantastic facilities and gastronomic cuisine with exceptional service.   
Day 26: Santa Cruz de Tenerife, Spain 
Awake to the sun rising over Tenerife, a fusion of European and Mediterranean sophistication, where you can enjoy its local culture and cuisine, with a day strolling the idyllic villages and cooling off in the calm waters.  
Day 27-28: At sea 
Relax on board for two days as you head to Morocco. Why not enjoy a coffee in your suite before you head to the pool or gym and enjoy a decadent lunch with new friends on deck.  
Day 29: Tangier, Morocco & Gibraltar 
Morocco beckons as you arrive at the ancient city of Tangier. Meander your way through ‘the white city’s’ meticulously curated gardens, and museums, before exploring dozens of British specialty shops, ancient market streets and look for the Barbary macaques atop The Rock’s upper reaches. 
Day 30: Malaga, Spain 
After 20 days at sea, this morning you will arrive at the beautiful coastline of Malaga in the Costa del Sol of Sapin. Bid farewell to your ship and meet your private transfer to the airport for your onward journey home.
