With no fences between the two reserves, game wanders freely to offer guests visiting some of the best game viewing around. Named after the two rivers that run through the area - the Sabi River and the Sand River - these water sources attracts a wealth of animals such as leopard, lion, rhino, elephant, buffalo, cheetah, zebra, giraffe, hyena and much more. With twice daily game drives offered by Cheetah Plains, there are plenty of opportunities to find and follow these incredible animals.

With three stunning exclusive-use bushveld houses, Cheetah Plains offers a luxurious and contemporary stay in the middle of the Sabi Sands. The modern design of the property blends in seamlessly with the natural surroundings to create a welcome environment and a relaxing stay. Cheetah Plains comprises three main houses named after two of Sabi Sand's legendary leopards, Mvula and Karula, and one after a popular lion, Mapogo. The lodge and rooms have been decorated with chunky weaves, stylish linens and natural colours, as well as some of South Africa's leading and local and up-and-coming artists to create a contemporary and luxurious space.

Each of the houses has a private chef and butler who will pair delicious meals with specially selected wines and beverages to offer some excellent service and hospitality. All game drives are conducted privately for each house or group, with a private guide on hand to take you across the reserve in search of some incredible wildlife. When not out on game drives, guests have the opportunity to relax by the swimming pool, work out in the gym, or take some spa treatments in the rooms or on your deck.
