When it comes to discreet, luxury boltholes in the Alps, The Lodge takes some beating. Built by Sir Richard Branson as his very own ski chalet, you really do get the sense that this is his own home-from-home in the mountains. There are lovely personal touches dotted around chalet such as family photographs - The Lodge even has its own dog!
From the outside, The Lodge resembles a cross-between an Alpine chalet and North American ski lodge. The interior is a blend of more traditional alpine chalet-style interspersed with furnishings and artefacts from all over the world reflecting the Bransons' passion for travel.
The mini-ice rink and party area complete with glittering disco ball add a sense of fun to proceedings with the pool table, 9m swimming pool, indoor and outdoor hot tubs, all providing plenty of extra facilities for guests.
The team of 15 staff will attend to your every whim and the team of Chefs (all trained under the watchful eye of Raymond Blanc) will serve up breakfast, afternoon tea and dinner - with the vast dining table able to accommodate up to 24.
When it's time to hit the slopes, Verbier has one of the largest skiable area in the Alps and The Lodge has a team of hand-picked instructors on hand to provide tailored lessons for all levels.
