In the midst of the lush green landscape of south Somerset, The Newt in Somerset is a Georgian-style country estate offering guests a taste of British country life combined with modern luxuries. Once home to the Hobhouse family, the estate is well known for its sprawling gardens and greenery including cultivated gardens, woodlands and orchards. Perfect for walking, exploring, and just enjoying the peace, the land surrounding The Newt in Somerset is also home to over 3,000 cyder apple trees which are used to make The Newt's very own cyder on site.

Accommodation is spread across Hadpsen House and its Stable Yard buildings. The main house, Hadspen House, is a country-home loved and lived in for centuries which has been re-imagined into a luxury acommodation that retains its classical Georgian charm. Rooms in Hadpsen House combine classic features of the original house with playful design and modern touches, all featuring plush bedding and luxurious en-suite bathrooms. Matched in luxury, rooms at The Stable Yard have retained many of the features of its equestrian past. As well as offering some family and group options, rooms at The Stable Yard are a great option for those looking for more rustic and characterful accommodation with features including exposed stone walls, hay managers, and wood burning stoves.

There are plenty of dining options for guests to choose from across the estate, with every dish served featuring something produced on-site. The Botanical Rooms offers breakfast, lunch and dinner and is also open to outside visitors, whilst The Garden Cafe is the perfect spot to enjoy a lunch of seasonal produce overlooking the kitchen gardens below. There is also the Cyder Bar, where guests can enjoy The Newt's own cyder alongside fresh bread, pastries and coffee, or Horns & Pigtails, an exclusive dining venue in the property's original vaulted cellar. Guests can also enjoy a traditional British high tea in a quiet corner of the library, led by the estate's own tea sommelier.

The spa is one of the stand-out features of The Newt, featuring an indoor-outdoor swimming pool, sauna and steam room, an authentic Hamman and a mud rasul chamber. Guests can choose from a broad menu of international treatments with scents derived from an English Garden. Beyond the spa, there are plenty of other ways to unwind including enjoying a garden tour or unwinding next to the log fire in the library.

For those seeking a little more activity during their stay, there is croquet, badminton, a gym, a number of walking trails to explore, and daily cyder tours. For younger ones, the property offers an array of activities for children including helping out on the farm collecting eggs and interactions with the local wildlife.
