Dolomites

The main ski area is known as the Dolomiti Superski and with access to 12 ski resorts including San Cassiano and Val Gardena through a network of 460 lifts and 760 miles of ski runs, including the famous Sella Ronda.

A modern lift infrastructure ensures rapid access to the slopes, where there is enough variety to keep beginners through to experts happy for well more than a week. The area is famed for its great value mountain restaurants, serving some of the finest food you'll find anywhere. And like everywhere in Italy, children are especially welcomed.

Further west, the Brenta Dolomites are home to the glitzy resort of Madonna di Campiglio, with a ski area of 57 lifts and 150km of lifts.

Aside from skiing, the Dolomites offers some of the most beautiful settings for those who enjoy cross country skiing, excursions with mountain guides, snow shoeing, ice climbing or simply sledging.

The climate in the Dolomites is a typical alpine microclimate - with overnight temperatures dipping well below freezing. Excellent snowmaking facilities help maintain its excellent snow record throughout the season.  Approximately 100 days of bluebird days of sunshine between December and March is the norm!
