Nestling in the historic town of Calistoga, at the top of the Napa Valley, the hotel is the region’s first resort located amid the vineyards of a working wine estate, the Elusa Winery. Designed to blend into its scenic surrounds, the property has been sympathetically and beautifully landscaped, with accommodation spread throughout the grounds in freestanding villas.
The public spaces have been curated with a modern minimalist aesthetic and fashionable farmhouse-chic décor. This is reflected in the stylish guestrooms, suites, speciality suite and residential villas. Entry-level Resort Rooms include King bed, fireplace, flatscreen TV, furnished balcony, mini bar and spacious bathroom with shower, deep soaking tub, double vanity sinks and separate WC. Located on the upper and ground floors of the villas, opt for the upper floor for greater privacy and sweeping views.
Suite accommodation includes a separate living room, while the two-bedroom standalone Bodega Suite, sleeps up to four adults, or a family of four. A modern take on a farmhouse cottage, the accommodation, includes a spacious terrace, large living room and two bedrooms. Larger groups and families can opt for the premium Speciality Suite, located at the edge of the vineyard, which sleeps up to eight, with three bedrooms, three bathrooms, large living area, media room and private garden with swimming pool. Or for a home from home experience, the resort includes a selection of three and four-bedroom standalone villas which include a kitchen, laundry facilities, garage, barbeque grill and fire pit.
In an area synonymous with fine food and drink, the resort has two dining options. The Truss Restaurant and Bar celebrates the best of Napa cuisine, offering a modern fine dining experience in a relaxed indoor-outdoor environment, with a 250-label wine menu showcasing the local region. Alternatively, head to Campo Poolside, the laidback poolside restaurant serving up a Cal-Mexican inspired menu. Guests can also choose to dine in-room on the terrace. The local microclimate is ideal for growing the cabernet sauvignon grape, the signature wine of Elusa. A highlight of a stay is the opportunity for guided wine tasting, to learn more about the organic wine production process and appreciate the subtle differences in the estate’s wines.
Guests can also enjoy two heated pools, one for children and a lap pool for adults, a spa and well-equipped fitness centre with a meditation and yoga deck, overlooking the vineyards. Spa Talisa includes a steam room, outdoor whirlpool bath, misting decks, mud-based treatments, steam room and soothing tranquillity lounges.
